I'm not 18, why should I care about voting?
All states have different laws about what age citizens can register or pre-register to vote, some as young as 16. When you pre-register to vote, you are automatically registered when you turn 18. This will ensure that you don't forget or procrastinate, and you are able to vote on your first election day as an adult!

The voting system is different in all 50 states. Every state except North Dakota requires voter registration to participate in elections, and the rules regarding age and submitting registration differ depending on where you live. Only 13 states and D.C. allow pre-registration, but many states still allow registration before the age of 18.
